Making the American Dream a Reality: Workforce Housing in Palm Beach County

Affordable housing is a big issue in Palm Beach County, complicating efforts to address homelessness and making it harder for the county to bring in workers from other areas. The county's workforce housing program is designed to help those in the public workforce, such as sheriff’s deputies, firemen, teachers, mid-level government workers, afford housing. The program is not perfect; factors such as buy-out fees, land availability, and development opposition are clouding the affordable housing picture. Learn more about the progress that has been made since the Housing Summit in May 2017.

Speakers include Palm Beach County Administrator Verdenia Baker and CEO of the Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County Suzanne Cabrera.
