Palm Beach County has been abuzz about our new Superintendent, Dr. Donald E. Fennoy II. This event is an exclusive chance to hear from the Superintendent, who will be interviewed by School Board Member and class of 2014 alum, Erica Whitfield. 


About Dr. Donald Fennoy: 

Dr. Donald E. Fennoy II is the 26th Superintendent of Schools for the School District of Palm Beach County. The District is the 11th largest district in the country with a student enrollment of more than 193,000 students. The annual budget exceeds $2.4 billion and the District is the largest employer in Palm Beach County with over 23,000 employees. Prior to his appointment as Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Fennoy served as the District’s Chief Operating Officer from May 2016 to March 2018. He is credited with significantly improving operational efficiencies across the nine departments within his division, following the transportation meltdown in 2015. In addition, he created organizational structures to successfully execute $1.3 billion in tax referendum projects. He also managed District operations during Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and Hurricane Irma in 2017. 


About Erica Whitfield: 

Erica has always wanted to make a difference in peoples’ lives, especially children. In 2014, Erica decided to run for School Board Member to have a greater opportunity to better serve her community and all the children of Palm Beach County. On November 4, 2014 she was elected to the Palm Beach County School Board for District 4, taking office on November 18, 2014.  Before being elected as Board Member, Erica worked as a Wellness Coordinator for the School District of Palm Beach County, School Food Service Department. Erica has served as President of the Kiwanis Club of Lake Worth; Chair of the City of Lake Worth Recreational Advisory Board and as Vice Chair of the Palm Beach County Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Greenway Advisory Council. She is a graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County (2014) Non-Profits First Rising Leaders class and Lake Worth Municipal Institute.
